Mojo Monday - All in white!!

Hi there!

Emilie there for a brand new Mojo Monday Challenge to help you start the week with a positive attitude. ;)
Are you looking for purity, clearness and clarity? Today's challenge will be perfect for you. The theme of this Mojo Monday is indeed All in White!

The rules are simple:
- use a white (or very soft and light) background
- make a white space layout!

A white space layout is all about the photo for me, I like to focus on the photo. But white space doesn't mean you can't use elements. A minimum of elements are necessary to showcase your photo. I like to make clusters of elements under my photo: I can have white space and embellies at the same time. On a white space layout, the elements are important but it's not the main subject of the layout. The elements are here to showcase the photo and not the contrary.

So, here are some tips to make a perfect white space layout:
- let your layout breathe
- don't use too much elements, limit yourself to 5 elements
- make a cluster of elements, so that your embellishments are not placed all over the page
- only use one photo but don't make it too big or too small, try to find the perfect balance
- don't make a big title, limit yourself to one word
- don't use too many different colors
- make a journaling but don't write a lot, 1 or 2 lines are enough
- last but not least, don't be afraid of negative space!

Happy Hybrid Hello!

Hello dear friends and welcome to another Scrapartist Hybrid Wednesday! Today I am delighted to welcome and introduce to you, our 2 new Hybrid Goddesses; Ana Amorim and Michelle Filo. I am certain that I speak for all of the Scrapartist family by saying how thrilled we are to have them here and how much we are looking forward to seeing wonderful creations from them both. Now, today’s post is all about purses. A girl can never have too many and hybrid purses are no exception. They are perfect containers for sweet mini albums and gifts.

To inspire you on your hybrid journey, I have created both a printable purse (using Nancie Rowe Janitz’ Ellie's World Kit) and a layered template, for you to stamp your own personal style with. You can download these exclusive freebies here. Eva has written a step by step tutorial, which is included!
 

Here  is Eva’s fabulous creation, using the template with the May Colaboration kit 'Flights of Fancy'. I really love the metal, floral and chipboard embellishments she has used here.

Here is my project, using the printable album with Nan’s fabulous Ellie’s World kit. I decided to create 2 purses; one full sized purse and another smaller purse (I simply reduced the size of the original printable file). I embellished both with a co-ordinating pink ribbon!

So go and have some hybrid purse fun and remember to  share pictures of your hybrid projects with us in the hybrid gallery.

Altered/Collage Challenge

Hi ladies,

Heritage Challenge

Hello All!

Erika (AKA dancingscrapper) here for another week of Two-Fer Tuesday – this week I am bringing you the Heritage challenge and our fabulous DeniseD will present the Altered/Collage challenge.

This week I am calling the Heritage Challenge “Architectural Ancestors”. Why? Well, I thought it would be fun to frame a heritage photo using some sort of architectural structure. In my layout below you’ll see that I chose a house but you can also use a door, window, gate, etc. In fact if you haven’t already, check out SA’s own Laurie Ann – her “Iron Works” kits are so much fun! So that’s the challenge – pretty simple, ha?  As always, heritage here at Scrap Artist is considered 1970’s or earlier.

Mojo Monday - Spice up your Titles

Hi everyone! Hope you all had an awesome weekend creating memories with your families.

It’s time for another mojo Monday challenge and this week, I challenge you to spice up your titles. Oftentimes, page titles catch the reader’s attention and draws her into your layout. Other than coming up with witty titles, another way to spice up your page title is to insert an element to replace a letter.

In my example here, I used a flower in place of the letter “O”.

And in Lea’s page, she used buttons instead.

Here are some other ideas:

- Use a christmas tree in place of the letter “T” in your Christmas title

- Use a heart to replace the “O” in Love

- Use a star to replace the “A” in Rockstar

 

So, let’s go and get the creative juices flowing. I’m sure you can come up with other ideas! Get those ideas onto your scrapbook pages and share them by uploading them to the Mojo Monday gallery. I’m excited to see what you come up with!

When dreams come true...

There was a curiosity, maybe a desire to try something new at  the very first beginning. Maybe just  challenging yourself, trying a creativity which is inside each of us. All of these women had a dream - becoming a designer. Their dream has become a true. All of them started with making freebies, they were trying and learning new techniques and then they've finally found their own styles. Now their names are known everywhere :)

I asked our designers to share with you their very first kits they made. As we had our first layout makeover just a few days ago, you could see the evolution of each of us. The same thing happened to designers. They are looking back at these kits with a smile on their face. They know that at that time these kits were the best they did. Now they are far away from that point and improving their styles and techniques with each of new release. Personally I have to say that our designers rock!!! I'm looking forward every Tuesday with curiosity to see those new yummy goodies which are flooding ScrapArtist Shoppe.

Some of those first kits survived until today and here they are for you. Our designers were so generous they uploaded their first kits to our Freebie section. You can go, download them and play with them as you want.  Enjoy!
