Hybrid Challenge: Inking the Edges
Hi there, Denise here with a new Hybrid Challenge for you, let's Ink the Edges!
When you run an ink pad along the edges of your card or layout, it can add a bit of definition to the edges, add a touch of color, or really pop a shape. There are lots of ink pad brands and colors at your local craft store, scrapbook store or Michaels. You'll want to look for Acid Free Ink.
We've shown a few of the popular brands to ink the edges of our cards. The Ranger Distress Inks are great for adding a slight coloring to the edges, the Antique Linen color adds a slight tan (my favorite). Pigment inks will give you opaque coverage, great to use with darker colors or bold colors. The Chalk Inks will look a bit softer, more transparent when dry. The smaller ink pads are perfect for getting into smaller corners, such as cut-outs.
Here's my card using the Ranger Distress Ink (Antique Linen).
Some of the pigment inks available.
Here's Hybrid Goddess Eva's card using a black ColorBox Chalk Ink.
Here's my card using some VersaMagic Chalk Ink.
You will have until April 7 to complete your card, upload your project to the gallery and we will pick the winner the next Monday. You can win a 5 dollar gift certificate for the shoppe, so join us! Participants in this challenge will need to use at least 50% ScrapArtist products to be eligible. Please note, this challenge will not be apart of the March Madness Contest.
Have fun inking your edges! :)
