I have a confession to make…over this last weekend, which is normally my most valuable scrapping time; I racked my brain for some inspiration and came up with nothing. Yes, that’s right, you heard me… I LOST MY MOJO! It doesn’t happen to me often but when it does, I have to just close out the ‘ol Photoshop and go on the hunt for my muse. How do I do this you might ask? Through the usual channels I guess; first I hit the Scrap Artist galleries and scroll through some of my scrap idol’s artwork. Then I mosey over to my plethora of Somerset Studios’ Magazines and peruse them page-by-page. If my muse is still on vacation, I take my dog for a walk to get some fresh air (as fresh as it can be in Los Angeles County), I play some opera music, maybe do a little ballet to release some tension, look through my favorite Baroque art book…well you get the idea.
In case you haven’t already guessed, this week’s Altered/Collage challenge is to create a layout of all things that inspire YOU as AN ARTIST. This was a super fun layout to do and I think you will have fun with it too so come on into the forum and read more about the challenge
Here is my sample layout:
Have you ever sat down and really talked to a senior citizen? Growing up, most of my contemporaries didn’t pay much attention to their grandparents or anyone considerably senior to them. I have always found that the seniors of our society have the most interesting and colorful stories to tell. I would rather have listened to my grandpa’s stories of growing up during the great depression in Oklahoma City than watch my favorite television show or go out on the town with my friends. There is so much to be learned from people who lived at a very different time in history than us. So, that is the theme of this week’s heritage challenge, “Ancestral Pearls of Wisdom”.
This is my sample layout of my grandfather who once said, “The More I know of people, the more I like a good dog”. Pretty wise, ha?

Don't forget that these challenges count as one point each toward your March Madness challenge contest. I hope you'll play with us this week!
Have fun!
